At London Venture Partners, we are a venture capital seed fund operating exclusively within the games ecosystem. Comprised of a small team of investment professionals with significant games industry experience, LVP have been seed investors in games companies that have created over $12B in value, including; Supercell, Unity, NaturalMotion, Playfish and Peak, to name but a few.

As the industry around us continues to grow and the investment landscape becomes increasingly opportune, we are looking to complement our growth via increased analytical rigor and capability

The successful analyst will work very closely with the team to source deal-flow, create research documents to shed light on attractive and nascent industry segments, evaluate inbound investment opportunities, oversee the team’s deal-flow pipeline, support portfolio companies with analysis, and construct quarterly reports for LVP’s limited partners (LPs) covering fund and portfolio performance.

Deal Flow: Sourcing deal-flow, evaluating pitches and manage the deal-flow process

Deal Sourcing:

  • Proactively source potential deals from databases/platforms/public domain
  • Manage data providers to enable rapid deal-sourcing at incorporation/pre-announcement stage
  • Track start-up landscape within key geographies to ensure optimal coverage for LVP

Deal-Flow Process Management:

  • Ensure CRM/deal-flow pipelines are up-to-date and correctly populated
  • Track inactivity and manage LVP follow-ups with deal-flow companies
  • Categorise and share deal-flow with appropriate strategic LP(s)

Pitch Evaluation & Screening:

  • Evaluate inbound pitches and categorize appropriately
  • Follow-up on interesting inbound pitches and, where appropriate, build investment cases for presentation to the wider team

Industry Research & Investment Theses: Ad-hoc and periodic analyses split between games industry verticals and funding

Games Landscape:

  • Macroeconomic industry analysis and white-space identification
  • Acquisition/exit case studies
  • Investment category deep-dives
  • Segment maturity forecasts

Investment Landscape:

  • Leverage investment data vendors to benchmark LVP’s performance against competitor funds and industry averages
  • Evaluate investment trends and cadences to guide internal decision making
  • Monitor M&A landscape to aid networking focus for exits

LP Reporting: Source/aggregate data and compile to presentation materials

  • Deal Sourcing & Portfolio Overview
  • Creating Portfolio Company Snapshots
  • Mapping Deal Flow Leads; Active and Passed/Inactive
  • Marketing & Presentation Materials

There will be a requirement to assemble various presentation materials using data/analysis aforementioned

Investment Theses: Create presentation materials to validate/discount investment hypotheses

Marketing & Fundraising: Construct marketing materials (presentations, graphics) pertinent to LVP’s portfolio, investment performance and outlook to aid in future fundraising, where required

  • 2+ years of transaction or corporate finance experience within a top-tier investment bank, transaction advisory house or comparable strategic player within games or consumer tech

Favourable Attributes & Skills:

  • European games industry experience
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end investment process
  • Excellent data analysis and visualisation skills
  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills
