Position Overview:  

  • International business developer reporting to Catalyst Director
  • Develop and implement “Catalyst Projects” for start-ups next47 will or has invested in, in order to scale the companies up and increase their growth trajectory in global markets significantly
  • Develop and implement innovation transfer from start-ups into Siemens and/or new and/or existing customers of Siemens on a global scale
  • Connect yourself with all for next47 relevant innovation eco-systems

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify growth opportunities in the start-ups and establish growth projects  (e.g. Go-to-market, international expansion, Proof-of-Concept projects, etc.)
  • Manage growth project according to proven Project Management concepts/methodologies
  • Develop a strong and sustainable network across the global Siemens organization and with Siemens customers
  • Report regularly on the progress of the “Catalyst Projects”
  • Collaborate intensively with the global catalyst team and with the entire next47 team
  • Best practice sharing with the other next47 catalyst teams in order to build the global function
  • Initiate technology transfer from start-ups into the Siemens network including partners and customers
  • Support the identification of new investment opportunities and support the next47 capital team in realizing investment opportunities

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • BS/BA required, Business, Economics or Engineering degree, MBA a plus
  • 10 plus years proven experience in operations management and business development functions
  • 3 plus years experience with project management concepts and methodologies (e.g. Scrum / Agile / PMI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and persuasion skills
  • Expert with Excel and PPT
  • Team orientation and ability to engage and inspire people
  • Passion for technology and innovation
  • Self-motivated, hands-on and with high energy degree
  • Enjoys challenges and is resilient under pressure
  • Strong strategic thinking and proven strategy development and implementation capabilities
  • Strong result orientation combined with speed and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in a multiple cultural environments due to the international character of the function
  • Travel required: ~40%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Fluency in second and third language
  • Experience working for start-ups
