At London Venture Partners, we are a venture capital seed fund operating exclusively within the games ecosystem. Comprised of a small team of investment professionals with significant games industry experience, LVP have been seed investors in games companies that have created over $12B in value, including; Supercell, Unity, NaturalMotion, Playfish and Peak, to name but a few.

As the industry around us continues to grow and the investment landscape becomes increasingly opportune, we are keen to hire exceptional talent to help manage and oversee fund finance and operations.

The successful candidate will be hands-on and responsible for all finance, compliance and operations related matters for the fund. The individual will work closely with the fund GPs and principals to enable investment, portfolio allocation and fund construction decisions. The individual will also be expected to regularly interact and interface with the investment team and help facilitate new deals and portfolio follow-ons. The candidate will also be responsible for constructing quarterly reports for LVPs limited partners (LPs) covering fund, monitoring portfolio performance, interfacing with potential LPs during fundraising amongst other responsibilities.

Role:

1. Finance and Operations

Responsible for entire fund finance and operations

1.1 Fund Finance

  • Work closely with fund GPs & Principals on portfolio construction and fund allocation
  • Liase with investment team and facilitate new deals
  • Advise and enable follow-ons in existing portfolio
  • Lead working capital management for fund
  • Review investor LPA and ensure compliance with provisions
  • Monitoring fund drawdowns; oversee efforts of outsourced fund managers
  • Reconcile financial transactions between fund entities

1.2 Finance and operations

  • Forecast and prepare annual budget with fund GPs and Principals
  • Tracking quarterly expenses across fund and GP entities
  • Liase with investment team to monitor expense threshold
  • Making payroll payments
  • Monitor VAT, vendor invoicing and payments
  • Maintain Xero data entry and recording
  • Coordinate and facilitate audit with fund auditors

2. Monitoring and Reporting

Monitoring fund performance, portfolio company valuations and LP reportin

2.1 Fund performance

  • Monitor fund performance including regular funds deployment capacity/dry powder analysis
  • Maintain fund metrics and monitor fund KPIs
  • Track portfolio company movements - follow-ons, stake sales, exits etc

2.2 Portfolio company performance

  • Conduct quarterly valuation reviews
  • Collecting updates from portfolio company
  • Updating portfolio valuations post investments and follow-ons

2.3 Investor reporting

  • Prepare quarterly investor reports across funds including
    • identifying quarterly trends
    • compiling fund stats
    • key portfolio updates
    • preparing portfolio company snapshots
  • Construct marketing materials (presentations, equity story) pertinent to LVPs portfolio, investment performance and outlook to aid in future fundraising
  • Work closely with fund GPs and Principals to interface with existing and potential LPs during future fundraisings

3. Compliance

Lead compliance responsibilities with

  • Maintain responsibility for audit, regulatory and compliance responsibilities across all fund entities
  • Ensure FCA compliance
  • Liase and co-ordinate with our outsourced financial services regulatory consultants to ensure compliance

Requirements:

Required Experience, Attributes & Skills

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • 6+ years of experience in finance divisions of asset management funds, private equities, fund management or accounting firm experience
  • Required experience in FP&A roles
  • CPA or equivalent finance degree

Favourable Attributes & Skills

  • Previous experience in fund compliance and operations
  • Well versed with legal documents including investor LPAs
  • Excellent data analysis and visualisation skills
