VC ANGEL INVESTOR PROGRAM

VC EXECUTIVE PROGRAM

BUILD A REAL INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO

Whether you're growing through the ranks at a VC firm or want to become an angel investor, the Venture Capital Angel Investor Program is designed to hand you all the necessary tools to make real investments and guide you through your first investment decisions step by step.

YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

WHY YOU SHOULD ENROLL

Getting to the moment of writing a check requires not only you to be ready to take this responsibility, but also the desire of the startup to accept your money, as well as willingness of other investors to co-invest with you. We assist you in achieving all of these components.

HOW THE PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT FROM ALTERNATIVES

The VC Angel Investor Program is designed to help you become a senior investment professional and achieve the following objectives:

☑ Build your investor profile and industry presence.

☑ Fill your investing toolbox with the necessary tools.

☑ Help you become invaluable to entrepreneurs.

☑ Guide you through your first investments, step by step.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Step 1 If necessary, learn and practice deal-sourcing, due diligence, and deal-making with an assigned tutor from our pool of venture capital investors. Arm yourself with a set of tools necessary for making investments.

Step 2 Raise your professional profile, identify the value that you can bring to entrepreneurs, start building your industry presence and developing relationships with startup founders and other investors with the help of our coaches.

Step 3 Walk the path from finding an investment opportunity to conducting due diligence, to closing a deal and writing a check with the support of your tutor. Build a pattern of the deal-making process to follow.

FEEDBACK FROM OUR STUDENTS

Bryan Besecker, Economic and Investment Strategist, BNY Mellon

I highly recommend the VC Academy Venture Capital Executive Program as an invaluable resource for anyone looking to pursue a career in VC and startups. No matter your background, the program is a great tool to understand the basic requirements needed in order to succeed in various rules within the industry such as your skillset and knowledge base. Moreover, the program is extremely flexible and allows you to work at your own pace. It also helps you to adopt a personalized career plan and to better understand whether this is really a fit for you. I find the information and assignments both interesting and challenging, and I am very grateful I decided to give the program a chance.

Jiannan Wang,

Product Manager, Venture Fellow

As someone who has no previous angel investing experience, I really appreciated that VC Academy provides students with firsthand real-world investing experience. From forming the investment thesis of the syndicate, pre-screening the companies, listening to the pitch calls, conducting due-diligence to finally making the investments, we were involved in every single step and learned valuable insights from the process.

It is very exciting to invest in some of the most promising startups from the alumni of the top tier tech accelerators. Many thanks to the Program director's expertise and connections for making that possible!"

Ester Ne, Head of Startup Programs, eBay

Being in corporate innovation and investment roles I already had a baseline knowledge about a lot of topics covered in the academy.  However, it was very valuable to do a deep dive into areas that matter most in VC roles such as legal frameworks and evaluating deals at different levels. The biggest value was structuring and deepening my existing knowledge and enriching it with new perspectives on investing.

VC Academy provides the most essential and valuable information on venture investing, modern trends and latest developments in the startup industry. It makes a meaningful contribution to the success of its students and subscribers.

Sergey Milushin, Portfolio manager in biotech, outer space, AI and transportation

Two years ago I was challenged to manage a private equity firm investing in early-stage startups. I had an entrepreneurial background and business development skills, but not much knowledge of the venture capital area. Looking for a comprehensive course of study to better understand the nuts and bolts of a venture capital firm’s operations, I found the only one which matched my needs and covered a broad spectrum of the topics needed: VC.Academy. I’ve started applying what I’ve learned in the VC Executive course from the very first days of study. The program helps me to become a better professional. It will definitely help others. Worth every dollar invested.

Zak, Investment banker

I have been working in the investment banking industry for a while and decided to change my career and switch to venture capital. I happened to work with Renata George as my couch during the Program. At the beginning of the course, she immediately recognized my skills that would be applicable in VC, and pointed out those I needed to develop. Her guidance is always clear, encouraging, and very practical since her advice is based on her real experience as a VC investor with a wide range of connections with other VCs and entrepreneurs. She willingly introduced me to multiple VC firms, so I started building my own network. I'd had zero connection in VC before, so she helped me to create the first circle in no time.

Also, as Renata is originally from Europe, as an immigrant herself, she deeply understands certain issues and challenges that international professionals face. She always offers creative solutions, and I have a clear career path now. Thank you, Renata!

Imran Dean, Associate,  DC Thomson Ventures

I made a transition from a Fixed Income Analyst to an Investment Associate in Corporate Venture Capital. VC Academy materials have added an immense amount of knowledge in weeks. Thank you for providing so much value.

Elizabeth Abubakar, VC Attorney

The articles and information on private equity and venture capital which I've been learning from the VC Academy have been really enlightening and helpful. I share them with other VC and PE legal practitioners like me. I applaud you and the team for your efforts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General

Do I have to pay tax on top of the tuition fee?

According to the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement (SSUTA) covering 24 states of the United States and the European Union rules uniform across all 28 countries, our Programs are not taxed. First, our students are evaluated by an instructor (not by a computer program or an interactive, automated method). Second, the coaching is a live interaction between students and coaches, as well as other live communications between the students directly. Third, we assist with the sign up and provide ongoing support by our human administrators. Please, consult a tax attorney to make sure you choose the right taxation method or reach out to us with any questions.

How long will I have access to the program?

Once enrolled, you’ll be able to access the Program’s materials at any time within 12 months from the enrollment date. Therefore, you can study the program at your own speed, ignoring our schedule. If you prefer to follow our schedule for better results, but want to delay the start — or if you slip off the schedule at any point, you can always ask us to restart the Program within the 12 months.

Will I have access to the Program materials after the 12 months?

The venture capital industry is very fluid, and changes may happen rapidly. We keep updating and enriching our materials as we go. To make this process sustainable, we offer a further annual subscription of only $199 for access to all of the materials in the Program after the 12 months since your initial enrollment, has elapsed.

Do you update your content?

Yes! Constantly updated content with recent case studies, regulation changes, and advice from seasoned venture capitalists, is one of our main values and competitive advantages.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a refund of the tuition fee minus $250 admission fee upon receipt of a cancellation request within five (5) days after the official start of the Program.

Is the content of the Programs different?

Programs consist of several modules, some of which are included in all the programs. Such modules have the same core content, which may differ in depth depending on the Program. For example, for legal documents required for an investment deal, the Venture Capital Associate Program covers a term sheet only, while the Venture Capital Executive Program covers the entire set of legal documents. Here is a comparison table of the programs’ outlines.

How do I schedule my sessions with a coach?

Upon enrollment in the Program with coaching, you will need to let us know which days and time slots are most convenient for you to work with a coach. We discuss these options with our coaches and will then connect you with a coach who can align with your schedule, or alternatively give you a choice of two or more coaches who may be available for you. Once connected, you can schedule your sessions directly with the coach. From that point on, we do not interfere in your communication with your coach, and you are welcome to continue working with the coach directly after completion of the program, according to terms that you can define together.

Do I have access to all the materials after enrollment?

The Program consists of several modules (see full syllabus), which you will be able to access according to our schedule. All modules will become available within the first three months. After that, you will have access to all of the materials and their updates within the next nine months.

VC Associate Program

How much time should I commit to the program?

We surveyed our students from past sessions to find out what they thought the best time length was for the program. It turned out that the most popular program length is three months. That is why we asked neuroscientists to help us develop a teaching methodology for this particular timeframe. If you choose to follow the schedule, then you’ll need to dedicate approximately 7 hours a week to study the Program. How much time you decide to spend on tests, assignments, and extracurricular studying, is up to you. If you slip off the schedule at any point, we can always restart it for you.

Are tests and assignments mandatory?

It depends on the type of the certificate you wish to receive. All students may be granted the Attendance Certificate regardless of whether they choose to pass the tests and complete assignments or not. If you want a certificate reflecting your level of knowledge after the completion of a Program or Course, you need to earn certain number of points. You can find the grading in the description of each Program and Course.
